RGV Railcar system “Sorting Transfer Vehicle (RGV)”
RFIDHY‘s Rail Guided Vehicle System
This system is a pallet sorting system designed to provide high throughput asset. Handling in combination with an automated storage and retrieval system (automated warehouse). The RGV is capable of sorting on multiple conveyor belts. Enabling efficient access to and from multiple automated warehouses, to and from picking stations. And sorting by shipping direction. It also enables cold storage management, making it ideal for cold chain automation.
High Throughput
The RGV runs smoothly and quietly. With a maximum travel speed of 200 m/min and a load transfer speed of 30 m/min. The speed of each vehicle is automatically adjusted according to its location and the actual condition of the cargo. In loops and dual systems with multiple vehicles. The controller optimizes vehicle allocation to avoid excess motion and energy consumption. Thereby optimizing overall system efficiency.
Flexible
The system is available in single-shuttle, dual-shuttle or loop configurations to suit various building layouts. Different space and traffic volume requirements. The system is also highly scalable. For example, extending the track to accommodate more automated warehouses. Or according to the throughput, increase or decrease the number of vehicles.
Reliable
When a conveyor is used, the pallets are displaced on the conveyor due to inertia. This problem is especially noticeable when the load on the pallet is heavy.
With our RGV system, pallet-laden vehicles run smoothly on the track. And there is an additional reinforcement system to ensure smooth and stable cargo transportation. Also, with the exception of single-shuttle systems. Maintenance work can be performed while the system is running.
Layout Changes
We offer the following three types of systems to suit your business volume and operations.
Single Shuttle System
Bicycles travel back and forth on straight tracks to transport supplies. This means forklift operators don’t have to move from one end of the warehouse. To the other, increasing productivity.
Straight rails can be combined with 90° curved rails to form an L-shaped layout. This works well when the layout of buildings and production equipment is difficult to configure with a straight line layout.
Dual Shuttle System
The system consists of two trolleys on a straight track, which can run simultaneously. Resulting in a 1.5x increase in throughput compared to a single shuttle.
We can also disconnect one vehicle from the evacuation zone and run the system with another vehicle. Which is useful as a backup if one of the vehicles fails.
Multi-vehicle Circulation System
Multiple vehicles are deployed on a circular track consisting of straight rails and U-shaped curved rails. Each vehicle can carry one load at the same time, which can handle more loads than a shuttle system.
Additional vehicles can be added at a later stage to increase processing capacity. If the volume of goods to be processed is expected to increase in the future. The cycle can also be expanded to accommodate additional cranes in the automated warehouse. Making it highly scalable to meet the demands of a growing business.
In the case of vehicle maintenance, the affected vehicles can be moved to a maintenance depot outside the loop. Allowing the remaining vehicles to continue operating.
